Even if you weren’t lucky enough to visit it yourself, you must have seen its iconic capsules toilettes that are famous on the Internet. These giant eggs, and colourful roof, belong to sketch, the legendary London bar that is a touristic destination by itself.

Opened in 2002, sketch London was masterminded by French legendary chef Pierre Gagnaire and restaurateur Mourad Mazouz. Together, they created not only a place, but a concept: a destination for art, music, fabulous food and Author drinks in a restored building from the XVIII century, located in Conduit Street, Mayfair, which was Christian Dior’s first atelier.

The creativity of the decoration of its lounges is not the only reason why this bar is a singular masterpiece. sketch is also known for its restaurant The Lecture Room & Library that has earned two Michelin stars.  In its whole, the place consists of various spaces: the already mentioned Lecture Room & Library restaurant, the Parlour, the Glade, the East Bar, and the Gallery, each of them intervened by different artists.

sketch also hosts several art exhibitions. Pieces of artists like Carsten Nicolai, Martin Creed and David Shrigley were shown in this amazing destination for dining and drinking. The last one, David Shrigley,  teamed up with the interior decorator India Mahdavi for the monochromatic pink decoration of the Gallery.

Art, music and food. These three expressions of human creativity coexist in sketch, the place that cannot miss in any tourist bucket list. Incredible. Fabulous. Eclectic. Any positive adjective is correct to descript it. A place where the interior may change at any time, but where the magic of art always remains.
